Madhya Pradesh backtracks a day later, says no proposal to ban hijab

The Madhya Pradesh government on Wednesday said no proposal was considered close hijab in public educational institutions , a day after Minister of Education Inder Singh Parmar stated that the hijab is not part of the uniform and that the same state code will be used in the next education system.

On Wednesday, Parmar re-issued a statement saying his words had been “misinterpreted”.

Interior Minister Narottam Mishra has made it clear that no proposal is being made regarding the hijab ban in Madhya Pradesh. “There is no dispute over the hijab in Madhya Pradesh. So there should be no confusion in this,” Mishra told reporters.

Leader BJP Major Uma Bharati, on the other hand, wrote on Twitter, “The Karnataka hijab row take politics and social change. In an effort to prevent this, opposition leaders must stop commenting on this issue while the national government must reach a solution soon when it considers the independence of educational institutions and the rights of ordinary citizens. ”
